It is a matter of immense satisfaction to let you know that Saidu Group of Teaching Hospitals Saidu Sharif Swat is one of the oldest, historical and prestigious institution of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The history roots back to 1927 when the then ex ruler of Swat established the central hospital. Later on Saidu Hospital was founded in 1954. Since then it is progressing at an appreciable pace and at present has expanded its departments to a wide range like Ophthalmology, Medicine, E.N.T, Paediatric Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Neurosurgery, Radiology, Pathology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Psychiatry, Maxillofacial Surgery, Dentistry, Dermatology and emerging sub specialties like Plastic Surgery, Gastroenterology, Urology, Paediatric Surgery, Nephrology, Pulmonology. We have a highly qualified and dedicated team of medical, administrative and support staff. The consultants in various departments are among the cream of specialists in the city. With state-of-the-art technology, qualified and trained staff, we are able to offer diagnostic and curative services. College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) has accredited the hospital for postgraduate training in the field of Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology and this demonstrates our commitment to implement the highest level of quality care and patient satisfaction. Introduction

Swat, the former state, was given the status of a District in 1970. This District holds a central position in the northern belt of the Province, and has significance as an area of anthropologi­cal interests in the history of South East Asia. Swat is an extremely attractive place for tourist and it is aptly known as the Switzerland of Pakistan.

Saidu Teaching Hospital, Saidu Sharif Swat consists of two wings which are 1.5 KM apart from each other. The Institution has 497 beds and further extension of 500 beds new building is near to completion. The catchment area is Malakand Division and parts of Kohistan District. This is the 5th Largest Hospital in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The Institution is accredited by College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) and Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) for imparting FCPS, MCPS Trainings and House Job in various specialties.

It gives me a great pleasure to highlight about and elaborate about the previous status and the present status of Saidu Group of Teaching Hospitals and the District Swat and its land which shines like sun is favour for its greenery and scenic beauty and has a long history behind it reaching as far back as several centuries before Christ. It has fruit-laden orchards, flower filled shops, meandering rivers, tumbling streams and is surrounded by high Himalayan ranges. Swat is of gentle summers, golden autumns, snow-mantled winters and flower-laden springs.

 The territory ranges from 991 meters and (350 feet) above sea level at its capital city Saidu Sharif to 5918 meters (19,415 feet) the top of Falaksair towering in the clouds; its speaks kissing the heavens. Read the rest of Chief Executive Message »
