Our department plays a pivotal role in providing high-quality dermatologic care while also contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
We specialize in a wide array of dermatological services including medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Our consultants are experienced in managing common skin disorders such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, and fungal infections, as well as complex and rare dermatological diseases including autoimmune skin conditions, genodermatoses, and skin manifestations of systemic illnesses.
The department actively integrates clinical service with academic learning and research. Equipped with a dermatology OPD, inpatient care facilities, dermatologic procedure rooms, and teaching halls, we provide an ideal environment for medical students and residents to develop core competencies in dermatology.

Dr. Saima Rahman is a seasoned dermatologist with extensive experience in clinical dermatology, teaching, and research. Clinical Services
Our department provides outpatient services six days a week (Monday to Saturday), with daily availability of experienced consultants. To ensure patient comfort, privacy, and convenience, we offer separate Male and Female OPDs, each staffed with trained dermatologists and support staff.

Investigations & Diagnostic Services
We offer a range of in-house dermatological investigations and diagnostic procedures to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. These include:
* Skin scraping and KOH preparation
* Skin biopsy (punch, excisional, incisional)
* Tzanck smear
* Slit skin smear for AFB (for leprosy diagnosis)
* Wood’s lamp examination
* Dermatoscopy
* Nail and hair microscopy
* All investigations are performed under expert supervision, ensuring safety, accuracy, and timely reporting.
Referral Services
The Dermatology Department works in close collaboration with other specialties such as Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Rheumatology, and Family medicine to provide comprehensive care for patients with systemic or complex dermatological conditions.
We also receive referrals for inpatient dermatological consultations and provide emergency dermatologic input in the hospital's ER and wards.
Undergraduate Teaching & Training
As part of our commitment to academic excellence, the department conducts a structured undergraduate dermatology program in line with the national MBBS curriculum. The teaching methodology includes:
